[Invited Tasting] Borderless Sunday Brunch at Grand Waterfront Copthorne

Sunday's Borderless Brunch is your Passport to the Best Brunch in Singapore yet. Whether you choose to dine in cool comfort indoors, or outdoors by the riverside, you get access to 3 dining areas - namely Food Capital Buffet, Tempo Bar and Grissini's Italian Restaurant (including their famous Josper Oven grilled treats).

Set in a classy, gold-toned settings, casting diners in soft glows and offering a spacious expanse of discretionary dining experience, Borderless Brunch on Sundays sets to capture your hearts and palate, with an extensive spread of quality food and amicable staff at your service.


FOOD CAPITAL







Starting from Food Capital, the buffet section of the dining experience- where many different sections display palatable cuisines to satiate your cravings. I started from the Salmon and Cheese Sections - reveling in their Raspberry Cheese, Brie Cheese and Fruit Nut Cheese especially. As for the Salmon - we had Smoked Salmon, Thai-Cured Salmon, Salmon Pantrami and Salmon Gravlax.




Tandoori Lamb was very soft, with gentle herbal notes. At the same station are Fish Tikka and Dhal Makani etc.  Other roast items were available at the Asian Counters, including well-loved Chicken Rice.




Live Foie Gras station was naturally one of the favorite stations; watching it sizzle on the pan and then served on a slice of crispy toast was simply lovely. The Foie Gras was well-seared and very buttery in texture.



Some fresh seafood such as Irish and Canadian Oysters, Salmon Sashimi and Tuna Sashimi. The latter is found at Japanese station which also comprised Sushi as well as Tempura.




Asian counter serving up piping bowls of Prawn Noodle Soup and Laksa as two of their must-try specialties - right next to tempting Chilli Crab with fried buns.  I thought the prawn noodle soup was a little sweet for my liking.





Finally, desserts! Enjoyed the Yam Ice-cream and Red Velvet Cake alot, as well as the assortment of praline chocolates (especially the Passionfruit and Sea-salt ones). The Peranakan Kueh (multi-coloured cakes) and Chocolate Ganache Tart were tasty as well.


TEMPO BAR






An assortment of juices, fruity slushed ice, Ciders and house pour Wines are available for the brunch as well.

Cocktails such as Riviera and Belluci were served, in addition to the lovely bubbly free-flow  Champagne. Belluci is more of an "end-of-meal" cocktail, darker notes that are sexy and sweet like the actress Monica Belluci herself.


GRISSINI









Handmade pasta and pizzas are the highlights of this section, as well as grilled delicacies from Josper's Oven.

A delectable array of ham and other anti-pasti such as bruschettas, grilled asparagus with shaved parmigiano and grilled pear with pancetta.

Tried a couple of pizzas and preferred the White Pizza - mozarella, black truffle paste, aged bacon cream and fresh basil.




We also enjoyed grilled food from the Josper's Oven as well, such as Prawns, Octopus, Wagyu Beef, Lamb and Spring Chicken. I loved the plump, juicy prawns and chewy Octopus especially.

Oh, and if you are afraid that your kids will ever feel bored here, fret not. There's a play station here for them, as well as balloon sculptors and face painters to keep them delightedly entertained.

All in all, the Sunday Borderless Brunch was very enjoyable and fulfilling; what a great way to spend quality Sunday with loved ones or friends.
